
William is a Senior Advisor to Deer Isle has nearly forty years of experience in both hands-on CEO and NED/advisory roles with companies and charities operating across multiple sectors in fifty countries.
He has a background in creating sector first-mover businesses from startup and developing them to maturity as market leaders, often in difficult operating environments. These included establishing Russia’s first self-storage operation and Myanmar’s first modern prawn fleet, introducing DX to S.E. Asia and Latin America, building Eastern Europe’s leading records management group and creating a charity twinning 200 schools between the UK and Asia/Africa.
William’s numerous non-executive board roles have been as varied as his managerial roles, ranging from chairman of one of the UK’s ten largest annual sporting events, through a directorship with a course provider and awarding body of British Government regulated business diplomas in over forty developing nations, to a trusteeship with a charity managing a diverse property, extractives, retail and events portfolio, in support of a heritage site and art collection.
William has lectured in financial modelling for business start-ups for a number of universities. Before, his career in commerce, William was a Captain in the British Army.
